Family Medicine & Cardiology Clinic

isgenuity worked closely with Partners Community Physicians Organization (PCPO) to design a new 8500-square-foot family medicine and cardiology outpatient clinic. The design of the space included 14 standardized exam rooms focused on patient-to-provider interaction, future flexibility, and the newest integrated technologies.

Due to typical age and health of the patient population served by this cardiology clinic, reducing the travel distance for patients between the waiting room and the examination areas was an important goal for the design team. At the same time, clinical staff gain efficiency from optimizing their travel distance during the work day. Through a LEAN study of both patient and clinician footsteps, isgenuity gathered the necessary data to provide the right balance between these two important metrics.

Two dedicated cardiology specialty rooms were designed for stress testing equipment, including a treadmill and an EKG. One of the specialty rooms is home to a mobile nuclear imaging testing device.

The clinic also includes phlebotomy, testing, and vitals areas, an integrated behavioral health consult room, and a multipurpose room.

The clinic’s design for staff follows the client’s healthcare standard, in which no provider has a private office. All providers share a team work area, and dedicated workstations are in a shared clinician workroom.
