Active Learning Classrooms

Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
Completed: 2015
Boston, MA

As part of a larger initiative to improve and update their classrooms and educational technology, the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health built new flat-floor, active-learning classrooms and student study spaces and activity areas. The new technology-enhanced classrooms are equipped with the latest multi-media systems, and are able to accommodate fully flexible furniture arrangements and configurations that provide a rich and varied approach to pedagogical styles.

In addition, isgenuity designed a brand-new student lounge that allows students to continue their meaningful collaborations outside the classrooms. The space provides areas for small-group study and respite. Ample natural light and a playful color palette create a welcoming atmosphere for graduate students to decompress while learning principles that enable them to become leaders in public health.
