Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
Labs at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health are home to the research activities for leading-edge research in the field of public health initiatives. Our ongoing lab renovation projects include providing space for lab expansion, housing new grant-awarded equipment, and or fitting out space for new faculty recruited to the institute. While each researcher and associated lab is unique, our design process is consistently focused on schedule and cost containment, equipment placement and associated MEP/FP systems coordination.
The projects represented include new (and sometimes re-used) casework, new energy-efficient lighting and environmentally friendly and durable finishes. Lab renovations often also include new support spaces that range from specialty equipment rooms to staff meeting areas and resource rooms which can require unique lighting, technology and systems support or specialty finishes. Project planning can sometimes require designing ‘swing space’ to accommodate the lab renovations while minimizing disruption to the research.
