South Bay Physical & Occupational
Therapy Clinic

Boston Medical Center
Completed: 2023

The Boston Medical Center South Bay Physical and Occupational Therapy Clinic combines rehabilitative care, physical and occupational therapy, orthopedics, and radiology. Their collaborative care model gives patients access to specialty services within the same facility, streamlining patient care and offering reduced wait times.

The main rehabilitation area features a high ceiling supporting the zero-gravity track that surrounds the equipment area. Therapy beds line the perimeter of the space giving patients and staff ease of movement with an unobstructed view. Clear glazing provides acoustic privacy and gives staff the ability to observe patients between the therapy tables and the main corridor of exam rooms. Occupational and neurological therapy have separate areas tailored to their unique programming needs. Orthopedics and radiology are in a more secluded part of the facility where staff can provide one-on-one care.

isgenuity designed inclusive features such as a dedicated exam room and toilet room for individuals of size, flexible equipment to support a wide range of mobility levels, and wheelchair-accessibility throughout the entire facility are key components in creating a supportive, welcoming and healing-focused facility. The clinic’s customizable amenities and accessibility options for patients satisfy the need for inclusive care in a diverse community.
