In efforts to help the rapidly evolving radiology department maintain state-of-the-art technical imaging capabilities, Isgenuity designed the replacement of an existing 1.5T MRI with a 3T MRI on the fourth floor of the Shapiro building at Beth Israel Deaconess. We expanded one of the smallest magnet rooms in the Medical Center by capturing an under utilized portion of the control room.

The addition of illuminated images in the ceiling and on the wall provide interest and distraction for patients before and after procedures.  We used flooring patterns to incorporate safety features, such as to indicate the magnetic field within the magnet room and as a warning mat at the entrance of the magnet room.

This project was the second of three MRI upgrades, which made coordination and communication critical to the success of the project which provided enhanced patient care.
